About Bob Hubbard
Here’s the spot where you’ll usually find a long, boring story about how I fell in love with photography, all the organizations I belong to, all the awards I have, and lots of boring technical stuff about my gear that no one really cares about. So rather than bore you, here’s 5 tidbits that might actually be of interest. The dry stuffs at the end. Oh yeah and “Bob Hubbard” because, SEO and all that stuff. 😀
1- My beard really is blue. My wife has (at the time I’m writing this, could be different when you read it) Suicide Squad Harley Quinn hair. On a whim I said, let’s toss some blue hair dye on the grey and see what it does. I kinda liked it, so decided what the heck, lets run with it. “Blue Bearded Photographer“, kinda catchy eh?
2- I’ve lived in Buffalo NY most of my life. Yes we get a good amount of snow, and I’ve ‘enjoyed’ several winters with 7+ feet of the stuff. On more than one occasion I cleared my driveway with a sword, cutting snow blocks with it and building walls and battlements. Hey, you can get angry or you can have some fun and I like to have fun.
3- I grew up listening to Heavy Metal bands such as Black Sabbath, Metallica and Iron Maiden. Today I still enjoy Metal, but also musicians such as David Arkenstone, Enya, and Lindsey Stirling. Random play on my play list can be entertaining, if a bit confusing sometimes.
4- I wear an 19th century frock coat, unless it’s 95F out, which it always seems to be when I photograph a wedding. So if you’re getting married in February and want it warm, hiring me is a good way to ensure a heat wave it seems.
5- My beverage of choice is sweet tea. When I was younger, I’d drink it by the gallon. Today I’ll also dring coffee, and won’t turn down a good rum (El Dorado 5 Year please) or sweet wine (Barefoot) but tea is ‘my drink’.
6- I married my best friend. She’s my muse, my inspiration, my love, and no she didn’t tell me to write that. (Did I get it right dear?)
7- If you haven’t figured it out yet, I like to have fun, have a weird sense of humor, and can be a bit of a geek/nerd. It’s ok, I (probably) won’t have tape on my glasses.
